What are Paper Cups Used for?

Cold drinks

If you intend to use the paper cups for cold drinks, then the single wall option is perfect for this situation. For cold drinks, the thickness of the paper is not so important as the printed cups do not need to be insulated. Single-walled cups offer a simple and clear expression on the outside and are also an inexpensive option for serving drinks.

Hot drinks

Most of our customers use paper cups with logos to serve hot beverages such as coffee, tea and hot chocolate.

When buying paper cups for hot drinks, you should consider the heat of the drink, as single-walled cups are often not hot enough to handle the heat. Single-walled cups can become so hot that they are almost impossible to hold until the drink starts to cool.

Alcohol and fat

Some of our customers use paper cups to serve alcoholic beverages such as Baileys coffee and other similar drinks. You may be inclined to believe that a simple paper cup can hold almost anything, but there are actually some things that a simple paper cup can still cope with.

Alcohol and fat are just a few examples. Most paper cups are not actually designed to manage high levels of alcohol or fat. For alcohol levels below 5% or low fat percentages this will rarely be a problem. But anything higher can greatly affect the durability of a standard paper cup.

This can be solved as many manufacturers are able to reinforce the cup material (especially at the bottom) so that they don't start leaking. Alcohol and fat are not common ingredients in paper cups, so remember to ask your cup supplier if you want to serve strong alcoholic drinks or drinks with a very high fat content in cups with a logo.
